Home Away From Home

Whenever we go back to Utah I refer to it as home. Dave always reminds me that we are home and that Utah is our parent's home. And, while I know he's right, it just seems so homey while we're there. We know where all the "locals" go, we run into people we know, and most importantly our fam is there. During the entire month of June we left our home in Cali to spend time at our "Home Away From Home"....aka Payson. While we were there we did tons of fun stuff! (Well, poor Dave had to work most of the time, but he got to have a little bit of fun.)
We went golfing a lot, stayed @ my Grandpa's cabin, shopped @ Garnder's Village, Bowled on my brother Landon's B-day, and got a chance to see Dave's brother John. He's been on a mission and luckily he came home while we were there. Spud and Michael, Dave's brothers, bought some bees and a hive. While I was there I got to check it out. There were bees all over! Spud got stung once, and I was totally brave and stood right by the hive.
Tess loves staying at my parents house. They already spoil her; she doesn't have as strict of schedule at their house, she gets to ride on the lawnmower with gramps, and grandma Jan gives her tons of loves.

Of course it wouldn't be home without some farm stuff. Tess got to feed the cows with Gramps, and even funner she got to go on her first horse ride! Uncle Lando was roping and he let us tag along. By the end of our stay it was time to gather the cows and babies from the mountain and bring them into pasture. We got lucky and found all but 2 on the first day, we had to go back a few days later and find the stragglers.

During our stay in Utah we took a quick trip to Iowa. Dave had to work and I tagged along. We had a great time seeing our old friends and hanging out in our old stomping ground. I really loved living in Iowa and it made me a little homesick being there. Again, Dave had to remind me that Cali is home.

By the end of June I finally realized that it doesn't really matter where we call home, as long as we stick together then home is where we're at!

It sounds like you guys had such a great time in Utah. We're actually heading home on Monday. Tessa is so cute and I loved her pictures. Next time you guys go to Iowa, if you drive feel free to stop by!!
I'm glad you guys are having a good summer!

It's funny how those darn grandma's give them just about anything!! Oh, well I guess that is what they are for! Only grandparents can get away with spoiling them to death!

Did Grandpa Neldon give up the real horses? How is he doing? I always love when I see your Grandpa! He is such a neat guy!

I feel like you, even though I only live 45 minutes from home! Benjamin, Spanish Fork will always be home to me!

I am glad you had a great time! I bet both of your families are so glad when you come "home".
